Methodology
Regional Commerce Data is the radar for UK trade company lifecycle signals in a region: starts, living market context, and distress — so suppliers, tradesmen, and asset buyers can act with timing.
Data sources
- Companies House Advanced Search — incorporations, SIC codes, registered office, company status (including liquidation / administration / receivership).
- Insolvency enrichment — company insolvency sub-resource where available.
- Fetch Price — asset valuation comps for distress events (separate storefront; shared pipeline).
Pilot region
West Midlands first. Other regions only after the free list and paid doors prove reliable.
Industry lenses (SIC)
Five primary trades: construction & building, plumbing & heating, electrical installation, haulage & road freight, motor trade & repair. Exact SIC lists are versioned in the Trade Lifecycle Engine config.
What we sell (value, not jargon)
- Find who just started trading — quality-tagged birth leads for suppliers and lessors.
- Know what the market is charging — regional intel for active tradesmen.
- Spot distress before the crowd — status / insolvency alerts for asset buyers.
Paid rows are gated server-side. We do not ship paid datasets in the browser.
What we do not do
- Scrape personal emails or phone numbers from the open web for sale.
- Replace a full credit reference agency (no credit scores).
- Run the auction — that is the liquidator’s job; we surface timing and context.
